The Rome to Athens itinerary gives you the opportunity to peel back layer upon layer in Rome, island hop around the Greek isles, haggle in a Turkish bazaar and compare the Pantheon of Rome to the Parthenon of Athens. While Athens to Barcelona gives you a taste of both the Eastern and western sides of Med with a mixture of breath-taking scenery and legendary history.

Itinerary

  • Transfer to your four-star hotel in central Barcelona for an overnight hotel stay.
  • A further overnight stay. The Christopher Columbus Statue marks the entrance to the port and the start of Las Ramblas pedestrian area - lined with shops, bars and restaurants where street entertainers keep you entertained. Perhaps visit the famous Sagrada Familia Cathedral which was started in 1882 and is still not complete. Universal's Port Aventura theme Park is situated close by, there is also the Picasso Museum, Gaudi Architecture and the Barcelona FC museum.
  • Transfer to the port and embark the ship.
  • Relax and make the most of the myriad of facilities available on board the ship, from fantastic entertainment to delicious and diverse dining options.
  • Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory on the south coast of Spain known for the Rock of Gibraltar, a 426m limestone ridge at its centre. Gibraltar occupies seven-sq. km of a peninsula bordered to the north by the region of Andalusia. First settled by Moors in the Middle Ages and later ruled by Spain, the outpost was joined to Britain in 1713. Gibraltar has its own airport where the main road across the peninsula runs directly across the runaway.
  • Relax and make the most of the myriad of facilities available on board the ship, from fantastic entertainment to delicious and diverse dining options.
  • The oldest city and France filled with elegant shops , bars and restaurants. Visit the Church of Notre Dame with its statue of the Virgin Mary or further afield Avignon and Provence.
  • Genoa is steeped in history and is the gateway to the Italian Riviera including Portofino - just 15 miles away. Genoa is a dense and fascinating medieval warren of alleyways where Christopher Columbus grew up. The rejuvenated Old Port area is has celebrated architecture and a maze of narrow streets clustered around Via Garibaldi. This is a seventeenth century street with lots of museums and gardens to visit. There are also two theatres, an opera house and even the Britannia Pub.
  • Approximately 30-minutes from the port lies the ancient city of Pisa with its famous leaning tower. Then it's on to Florence - a renaissance treasure founded in the 16th-century. Visit the the Uffizi Gallery and the main cathedral Il Duomo Di Firenze which was started in 1296 and completed in 1436. No visit to Florence would be complete without a walk across Ponte Vecchio which is lined with gold and silver merchants.
  • Disembark the ship in Civitavecchia port after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
