Few countries can compete with the ancient wonders and compelling history of Cambodia.
A key attraction is Angkor and its spectacular ruins, where thousand-year-old temples loom at every turn. Here you can admire the sun rising over the vast Angkor Wat and marvel at the stone faces peering out from the forested temple of Bayon.
Further south, French colonial architecture decorates the capital city of Phnom Penh, which contains the 19th-century Royal Palace and its revered Emerald Buddha. By contrast, the country’s more recent and troubled history is evident in moving museum tours and the nearby Killing Fields.
